No, there were muskrats in the creek 50 yards from my house growing up.

I don't think you would ever see them that far from water, they are much smaller than what I saw. It was an otter.

Goundhog? Lord knows we have a ton of those around C-U. Maybe it was a skinny one.*

very low to the ground, very distinctive way of moving. I've seen weasels and minks before in the wild, just never anything this big. I don't know what it would be doing there. There is that tiny creek that ends up in the Embarras, I guess it could have come from there, but kind of off course.
