Seemed to me like they knew that they needed to end on a high note but didn't know how to land it last season, so they just stretched it out into 8 episodes now. The first 4 episodes just felt like stretching everything out

Also...Michelin Star reviewers are well known for not telling people who they are or when they visited a restaurant, and stars are announced at a ceremony. They definitely don't call the restaurant to tell them their name, when they visited, and that they've been awarded a star (or multiple stars, in this case). For a show that got a lot of praise for how showing how high end restaurants often work that just seemed like lazy writing.

Not really loving any of the characters, and not sure I care about the mysterious/horror plot.

Even though I liked it, it seems I’m in the minority in thinking Widow’s Bay was a like a 7/10

The narrative seems to have shifted to talking about it like it was some kind of legendary show, I think it was just a regular old good and very unique show. There were at least a couple episodes that were a bit too weird for my liking.

I thought it had issues holding onto the horror part of horror/comedy in the later eps.

The most horrifying part of the whole show was the twist in the finale, but it wasn't the same kind of visceral pop you get from a clown chasing you in a crawlspace, or a sea hag exploding on you in a bathtub.

although I couldn't help thinking that the room Rhaenyra was locked into definitely had/has a second door that was used last season, so why didn't she just go that way?

also...Aemond kissing his mom in the creepiest way possible. They could have eased into the incest after such a long time between seasons but they just leaned right into it
