To lug their kids around because they're too chickenshit to just drive a regular car, SUV or van.

I don't want one of these, but I don't dislike it. And if it eventually slows or reverses the adoption curve of the other trucks on our roadways its a huge win.

...for city driving (our garage is a former carriage stable and will not fit a large or probably even most medium sized trucks like the Ranger) and to take care of the chores in the Northwoods.

My Jeep is basically just driven for getting me back and forth to work (15 miles RT) and the very occasional on pavement weekend ride. (Last weekend was the first time I've had the top off in 2026.)

The Jeep gas mileage is terrible, it's a 2014 so very no-frills, and I hate to drive it much over 75 mph on an interstate as it's so loud. Radio is broken so I have to stream off my phone. The 4WD is useful in bad weather, though.

A Slate truck would make an interesting replacement.
