i fully realize this is easier said that done. I also realize that you're introducing the possibility of missing the goal.

but shots < 4' off the ground have the chance of being saved. 50/50 basically if the goalie chooses correctly. but hard and high seems impossible to stop even if he chooses correctly

I guess i'm saying i don't know why you'd ever go soft and low. high and hard seems way better no?

You never know when that might give the keeper a trace of an advantage. The keeper may not have to move as much to block a high ball.

To the tune of about 75% conversion. As said below you have to mix it up to not be predictable as the goalies at that level are that good. When you start mixing it up the mental part comes even more into play.

and yeah you also have to be good not to fuck it up, versus just trying to read the goalie's hips and go the other way
