is also the lead singer for Blur (best known for Song2 - when you hear it you'll know)
Both are very different and distinct sounding bands

I like both bands and both continue to regularly put out albums

Friday is the only one I'd have any interest in, as the Strokes are in my top 3 OAT. On the other hand, I haven't been too impressed with the live performances I've seen from them. Maybe it'd be better in person, but I think I'm good never knowing.

Strokes are ok live -- he forgets his lyrics a lot, but is pretty funny*
