Windows computer bizarre behavior for which there is no explanation

My state-of-the-art laptop frequently freezes and just bogs down. If I go through the Shut Down and manually restart, the behavior often continues. However, if I just hit Restart, it runs like a champ. Spacex will do nothing to help this

better than “restart”. You however would be wrong.

it's the same as the TVs that don't shut all the way down on power-off, so that it doesn't take as long to turn it back on

sucks for the people who think shutting down every night will do anything about their temp files, though

There's a link on the screen to reset my PIN. Clicking that link does nothing.

There's also a link to use my password instead, but it tells me the password is wrong.

Tried booting to the BIOS, but there's nothing there I can see that would reset anything.

Anybody want a paperweight?
