Used Copilot to troubleshoot a recurring problem with my monitor resolution. Talked to whatever google’s AI thing is about my suspicion that my estrogen dose is too low after switching from pills to a patch, then asked whether low estrogen and low iron can be related—yes, which would explain why I still feel messed up five days after a blood donation. Instead, everyone gets to use MS Copilot. Not to worry, though, the skills we've all built using Perplexity are transferrable. Well, not the skills so much, but the work habits. They actually helped ease the transition a bit by cutting off access to the good models months ago. no idea if it will ever get off the ground. But just using it to fill in the spaces. About a 80's cover band who gets transported back to the mid 1950s, the birth of Rock n Roll. And their music becomes the blueprint of what the scene will become. Using songs they know that came out at least 30 years prior. It's not bad for checking that patent claims have support and enablement. Gemini created a decent itinerary for a vacation in June. I fed it a lot of prompts and could have done it myself, but AI made it pretty and did it faster. i've used it for mundane excel tasks about once a week that may get reused monthly. (for example summarizing our EBITDA adjustments by vendor that accounting put together in a mess of a file.) Enterprise ChatGPT linked to m365/Teams/etc. does 99% of what copilot does and does it better. I pretty much use copilot when it is something simple and quick and just easier because of its direct integration in m365 products. Though Claude through copilot is much better at generating PowerPoint slides. Saves so much time compared to creating PowerPoint slides from scratch. Recently have used ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini in comparison to help with house hunting and purchase process. Chat and Claude generally much better than Gemini for this, even just using the free version of Claude. I will use Gemini for 90%+ of things I used to use regular Google search for. Usually works just as well but I often still ask it for sources/links and go to those to verify things. Also, using EHR integrated AI tools on the daily for things like chart summarization, text assistant, etc. and have many others in pilot / trial modes we are working through. Once we get our new, modernized data warehouse operational in a few months I expect I’ll use the AI analysis tools pretty extensively. But our IT hasn’t implemented any AI for work use beyond chatbots. If they get agentic tools deployed I will at least explore those. Not sure how much I’ll be able to leverage them, though. We are supposed to use our internal Copilot chat tool only, and even then there are strict guidelines about what we can input or generate. It’s annoying to figure out how edge cases fit into our policies. For example I’ve used Copilot to draw an image from an idea I have, which is so much faster and more effective than trying to describe to my art office what I have in mind. However, anything generated by AI can’t be included in our products. So whatever I come up with, I can use as a sample/ reference for the art office to draw something original, meaning I have to change it enough that it can be considered original. Meanwhile I can also ask Copilot create an incredibly simple chart, which again is faster and more effective than what I would otherwise do (fumblingly create the chart in Word using SmartArt), but because the result is technically AI generated I’m not supposed to use it. 😑 Previous Message I'm using it quite a bit for parts of my job, some research stuff, and occasionally for web search.
