Fantasy Football Trade Proposal: Advice Needed!

Posted by Kajagoogoo User icon on October 20, 2026, 11:16:16

So I got sent a ridiculous offer, which I've declined already. I'm countering with the following:

He gets:
- Saquon
- Pickens
- Lamar J.

I get:
- James Cook
- Ja'Marr Chase
- 2027 2nd Round Pick (Probably a late pick)

Fair? The trade analyzers thinks this is fair but leaning to him a bit. He has no first round pick next year. *shrug* Saquon has been a disappointment for nearly two seasons running.

if this is a SF league then I'm thinking it's an even deal. *

Hello, is this President Clinton? Good! I figured if anyone knew where to get some Tang, it'd be you.

Seems heavily one-sided in your favor

Were I in the receiving side, it’d be an easy “no”

my general experience is that fantasy trades never work

because 1) people are so paranoid of getting hosed and 2) so many proposed trades are basically ridiculous.

For non-dynasty leagues I would agree

For my dynasty leagues, though, I like doing deals that are kind of like those at baseball's trade deadline. Meaning, if I'm going for it, I like trades for established "stars" to fill in a gap while giving up cheaper (and maybe younger) guys who can be of value going forward, or vice versa.

For example, currently the guy in last has Justin Jefferson and I am considering offering Jalen Coker, among others, to try and get him since JJ is unlikely to be a keeper due to his price tag.

Yeah i was going to opine that it's more like a deal that doesn't make sense for either side

i don't see adding Saquon this year as improving anyones chances this year and Cook and Chase are both odd pieces for long term building

Chase is only 26. Cook, 27. He'll likely turn down the trade, which is fine.

But it's not like his offer was amazing.

Online trade analyzers think this is an even trade. *shrug*

His initial trade offer was for him to receive Barkley, Jackson, and Pickens, and I get the late 2nd with Jalen Hurts, Ja'Kobi Lane, and Caleb Douglas.

is this dynasty or redraft? follow up to that- is that 2nd round pick in a rookie draft or a redraft draft?

1QB league or 2/superflex?

what other QB do you have?

are you a win-now team or a rebuild team?

Sorry, it's a dynasty league. Draft picks are just college players for the most part.

It's a 1 QB with superflex league, so yeah, we're all starting 2 QBs.

My other QBs:
- Caleb
- Trevor L.
- Tyler Huntley (handcuff for Lamar)

My team sucks, so I'm trying to pick up young talent and draft picks. Cook being a young RB helps my RB-depleted team. Chase is an upgrade over Pickens, I think. But I have no idea what rookie talent will be there in the late 2nd of this 10-team league.
