Though I've only known Max from afar I well remember his brother Maurice who joined the NCP after he came back from the GDR when the wall came down. Maurice passed away in 2001 but Max celebrated his 103rd birthday this year. There was a tribute in the Star that is, unfortunately, not online and birthday greetings here:
