Re: free access?"
I could not care less what the NCP argues - that's its business, not mine. Nothing would surprise me these days. But that's not the point I was making. I am interested in whether you are able to reconcile the notion of 'free access' with any recognition of the material limitations of the planet and its ecology, which have become increasingly apparent over the last century or so. The utopia presented in the document you linked to completely fails to address the question of the finite nature of the planet's resources. In the mental world of the SPGB, nothing seems to have changed between 1904 and 2006 (the date of that document). The human population of the planet has more than quadrupled, we seem to be in the midst of a human-created mass extinction event, and yet the old nostrums of World Socialism remain inviolate, including the fantasy of perpetual abundance as the essential basis for your imagined future society. Merely repeating the SPGB's definition of socialism is not a convincing response to the point I was raising, as I am sure you realise. I am well aware that in the SPGB's eyes I do not count as a socialist. I'm inviting you to convince me, or anyone else who might read this thread, to become one. After all, that is what the SPGB tries to do, isn't it?
