My recollection is that they are an old splinter from the International Socialists but that they have strayed very far from their Trotskyist origins. Interestingly they also spawned Füredi's Revolutionary Communist Group (later Party) which ended up being wound up and transforming first into LM Magazine and then the Spiked online magazine and the aggressively capitalist Institute of Ideas.
