Interested in Francis' position in the CPGB at that time, not dissimilar to mine e.g. fairly centrist, not seeing a great deal of political difference between the two leading factions, far more uniting us (then), and trying to argue for a unifying position.
I agree with Francis the split quickly became very personal and entrenched, undermining the central unifying position, both factions saw the other as existential threats to them and to the Party.
I do believe however that there were far more members in the centre than Francis indicates, a real pity these could not have been mobilised better and more effectively.
Finally, yes Francis I do believe there is a "market" for communist politics way bigger than the current size and influence of the CPB.
How we get there and develop this is (obviously) a big challenge
