Re: Queen Mary's diamond collet necklace
I have been thinking all day about Franck's observations regarding the collet necklaces and am now certain that he is correct -- that the top necklace/choker worn by Queen Mary in his first photo is the same necklace as HM wore as her top necklace for the coronation in 1937. The shape of the diamonds is the same. The shape of the central diamond is the same as well as those on the side of that. I still think that the first photo was taken well before the 1901 tour of the colonies -- but I don't have a date for the photo -- and I may well be very wrong. I am judging things by the style of Queen Mary's hair and clothes as well as her facial features circa 1901 and later. Well spotted Franck!
