was presented to Queen Alexandra when she and Edward VII visited Birmingham in July 1909.
It was made by trainee jewellers at the Birmingham Municipal School of Art.
As well as sapphires the necklace featured emeralds, pearls, diamonds and pink topazes among the intricate gold work. It was designed by Mr Gaskin, the Headmaster of the training school, and his wife.
