Although I have a great love and joy for all things royal and jewels and history, this auction does create some degree of guilt and disgust to know that so much can be spent on such small inanimate objects and yet we cannot as a human kind solve the profound hunger and thieving problems we face in health and such other like issues. Just think about it, 36 million on a stone no bigger than a finger joint. I'm sure the insurance and security cost on this small stone will amount to no less than a good few hundred thousand every year. Was it all worth it? And I again say, much of the diamonds are not stones of the first water yet they commanded top dollar.
Regards,
Dave.
