Apart from the very grand diamond belt tiara, the Buccleuchs have a "smaller" diamond tiara which is referred to as the Mayflower tiara on the Bowhill (one of the Buccleuchs' principal houses) site.



According to the curators at Bowhill the Mayflower tiara was created in the 1870s and can be dismantled to form 9 brooches.

It has also been worn by a number of brides in the family. It was chosen by Duchess Jane for her wedding to the then Earl of Dalkeith in January 1953.



No doubt it provided a lot of glitter on a dull January day and even more if parts of it are set en tremblant.



Duchess Jane's necklace also seems to be an old Buccleuch piece. I believe it is the same as the one worn by the Duchess to the Devonshire House ball in 1897.
