History of Famous Jewels and Collections: Re: Buccleuch diamond necklaces

I looked at a few of the videos of the coronation to see if I could identify if the Duchess wore necklaces, but the footage is too indistinct for me to see. I also wondered if any of the other Duchesses who were canopy bearers wore necklaces, but it is impossible to see what any of them wore --except for their tiaras. Perhaps some one with keener eyes might be able to see.

The necklaces are very impressive, and I agree with you that the larger necklace and the bracelet are the same!

I find it interesting that the Duchess was wearing the necklaces for the Coronation portrait, when it appears she was bare-necked when leaving the Coronation (something I've always found odd, considering the amount of jewels she had), but maybe she slipped them inside her purse for some reason!
