I think the colour white is important in Imperial Japanese culture. It can’t be a coincidence that in over a hundred years of tiara wearing they have never worn a single coloured gem tiara. There are too many Imperial pearl and diamond jewels to be merely personal choice. The Japanese Imperials are not famous for their freedom.
