I think that this is the Middle Temple reception that Kongetro was asking about. The photo was taken at the Middle Temple reception for delegates from the parliaments of the Empire on 4 May 1937. (I eventually found the AP image Kongetro but it was very fuzzy. Below is a clearer image)
Detail -- shows Princess Marina wore her snake pearl tiara.
