Looking through the pics of Barbara Cartland i found this one. I think she is wearing the same necklace here.

I prefer as a necklace rather than a tiara. Before Raine married Earl Spencer she was the Countess of Dartmouth so it could be Dartmouth piece she kept.
If you look though the pictures on her obituary you can see she was a woman who loved her jewels. You can also see what I presume was the, or one of perhaps, Dartmouth tiara I presume.

I wonder if she attended the coronation?
Her mother who was very flamboyant had quite a collection of jewels to match her personality.

Thanks for these close ups guys. This tiara looks simple yet immensely stunning up close. Its sad that it went to auction and no longer in private hands.I gather it may have been a personal piece owned by the countess and not entirely a Spencer legacy.
