I quite like some coloured diamonds. I do appreciate them as rare stones but what they charge for anything even mildly pink and truly tiny....there are better ways to spend my money I think.
I don't actually see a lot of antique jewellery worn in the city any more. I do see some big bling rings on some fingers but they stand out I think because they aren't really that common.

Last year, a jeweller I know told me of a commission he was doing for an engagement ring. The lady, in true Australian style, didn't want a ring which was ostentatious, but she had a significantly sized pink diamond set under the diamond superstructre. Amazing! but very Australian, in that she did not want anyone to know how expensive her ring was.
