During this era it was commonplace for the press to refer to the gift as the "Ladies' tiara" or the "Ladies' diamonds" or a similar phrase. After receiving it Queen Alexandra wore it frequently.
I wish we had a photo of Queen Alexandra on this occasion, not only to see how the tiara looked as a necklace but also to see the bee brooch given to her by Blackburn. The press reported her wearing that often; yet, I have never identified it in photos. Has anyone?
