I found this image (enlarged) in the Australian Women's Weekly 20 Nov 1971 some years ago.
There is also this photo (and a companion one) taken inside -- as opposed to the photos taken outdoors when Princess Anne was photographed in a fur trimmed evening coat.

I suspect that this may have been a 21st birthday present from her parents --hence why it is not seen earlier.
While a middle eastern ruler cannot be ruled out, to my way of thinking that seems improbable at that time.
Princess Anne launched her first naval ship, the Amazon, in April 1971 for the navy and the shipbuilders, Vosper Thornycroft, but I didn't see a mention of any gift in the press. Unless the Norwegian ship mentioned by The Royal Watcher was built and launched in the UK, I doubt if a Norwegian shipping company would give a British princess such a major gift. Do we have a year for the launch for the Norwegian ship?
