In 2016 Dawn of the RJWMB posted a sketch from a US newspaper of the gift given to Queen Maud by Mr Alfred and Mr and Mrs Leopold de Rothschild. Unfortunately, those images are no longer available on the board.
Vincent Meylan then made the connection that the Rothschild gift was what is commonly called the Vifte tiara. Previously, it had been argued that it was an eighteenth birthday present from Queen Victoria.

Below is another sketch of this jewel. It is a more accurate sketch, particularly in regard to proportions.
The Vifte tiara worn as a necklace. I have rotated the image to make it easier to compare the items.
Comparison
When Dawn posted the first sketch (which allowed for identification of the jewel) she gave her source, so I was able to take a cutting from the same newspaper.
