Regards,
Dave.
Thank you so much Alejandro E. Do you know anything more about the pearl coronet from the French crown jewels? Or the copy of the sapphire tiara?
I noticed today that Ursula has some items on the jewels of Mary Goelet, Duchess of Roxburghe.
For those who would like to read more see https://royal-magazin.de/england/roxburghe/roxburghe-goelet-spain-royal-pearls-necklace-jewels.htm and follow the various links.
I am not sure how to interpret all that Ursula has said about the pearl necklace with the pear shaped drops. Ursula are you saying that the necklace did belong to Queen Isabelle of Spain? And that it was the necklace/tiara sold by Koller in 2017?
Here is a link to Koller https://www.kollerauktionen.ch/en/402381-0001-1183-ausserordentliches-naturperlen-1183_442252.html?RecPos=1
My reading of the information on the Koller site is that the necklace/tiara the firm auctioned was made by Catchpole and Williams circa 1890, but perhaps I am mistaken.
Here is a link to the BnF which holds a copy of the catalogue of the jewels Queen Isabelle sold in Paris in 1878. https://gallica.bnf.fr/ark:/12148/bpt6k62020113.texteImage Unfortunately, there are no images.
If Mary Wilson, Mrs Ogden Goelet, eventually owned Queen Isabelle's necklace with the pear pearl drops then it could not have been given as a wedding gift as the Ogden Goelets married in 1877 before the auction of the Queen's jewels. If Mrs Ogden Goelet did own Queen Isabelle's necklace I wonder when it was altered and when she gave it to her daughter?
