I have two questions:
1. How do I show you my photos? I never know how to upload my own photos on this site.
2. How did those pieces escape the sale? Were they somehow divested from the Crown Jewels?
There are others who know a great deal more about the French royal jewels than I do MarcA, but a number of the jewels (which were sold in 1887) have since surfaced in various parts of the world.
Vincent Meylan in Christie's has described those which have passed through Christie's auction rooms.
A necklace which will be auctioned today by Christie's in Geneva may be a somewhat remodelled version of one of the ruby necklaces. See Vincent Meylan's Instagram post https://www.instagram.com/p/B4dbYceIvwB/
Some of the jewels are today held in the Louvre having been acquired by the museum from time to time.
Others are till in private collections.
We should try to do a thread at some stage and gather our collective knowledge and previous posts in one place.
