At least: Note: ... What we know:
The company of Koch/workshop Kreuter Hanau made a tiara, with Aquamarine and diamonds, for the Empress. The sketch of that item, in the archive, I had seen.
No other note is in the archive.
But I know, the archive is not complete. They made some tiaras in different gems - as well as Topaz or Citrine.
>>>Has anyone come across any additional information which might help to solve this puzzle? Ursula did not give any indication of provenance for the necklace and earrings which Sotheby's offered for sale in St Moritz in 1982.>>>
No - Sotheby's didn't give any provenance!
Not me.
And I know a tiara which is of Rhinestone - in the same style.
On 26 April 1932, John Crichton-Stuart 5. Marquess of Bute, married Lady Eileen Beatrice Forbes (1912–1993) a daughter of Bernard Forbes, 8th Earl of Granard and Beatrice Mills Forbes, an American socialite who was the daughter of Ogden Mills.
This is not the line! Lady Mary in your picture married 1933, she was the sister of John Crichton-Stuart - both children of the 4. Marquess of Bute .
