I agree it looks like amethysts. The necklace was worn by Queen Silvia at one of the Sweden Dinners as well. Back in 2017 (can't believe that that's three years ago already) there was a discussion on the Royal Jewels of the World Message Board regarding this necklace:

I think it is an amethyst, but the lighting makes it difficult to tell in some pictures. Maybe Lilian wore that sash on her dress to pick up the color of the stone? Just a suggestion. I have now idea about the smaller stones 😊
