Great find! It was quite a surprise to me that it was not someone from a Royal House - I had thought of the Crown Princess of Greece. But now, thanks to you Beth, there is no doubt who she is - or any of the others in the painting / photo either

So are we also then able to identify positively the jewels (mainly the tiaras, as those are the pieces showing most prominently) worn for the wedding?

After reading numerous reports of Queen Maud's wedding, I finally discovered that the Royal Collection has an index to Tuxen's painting.

The lady we have been trying to identify is the Duchess of Buccleuch, Queen Victoria's Mistress of the Robes.
