You're probably right. The other tiara looks a bit to simple to wear to the wedding of your niece to a future king. Maybe the other piece is more of a headpiece than a tiara? They were quite popular at the time. Look at for instance the headpiece worn by Louise Mountbatten at her wedding.
JR76's images of the wedding gala of Princess Sybilla are intriguing. I had never seen them before.
I wonder if Princess Alice, Countess of Athlone, might have been wearing this tiara? I think she began wearing this tiara in the early 1920s. What do others think?
