2) I can't find the source where I read it, but I recall reading an anecdote by Geoffrey Munn a few years ago: Munn contacted the Earl and Countess of Harewood for an exhibition, asking it they have any Tiaras, and the Countess said there was only one (the Sapphire Coronet) but it was so small Munn probably didn't want it for the exhibition. (UPDATE- I read this anecdote on the Order of Splendor site and also wrote about in my own article on the Tiara)
I don't think the Tiara and the spray brooch are the same jewel. It looks quite similar in style (but not the same piece) to the necklace/bandeau from the Ranee of Gondal discussed a few weeks ago, and I would imagine the Harewoods must have had quite a decent jewellery collection before Princess Mary's marriage!
