I totally agree. It is so interesting to see jewels which is not so frequently talked about. And it is a shame that we are not able to get more information about the wonderful collections in the Asian royal houses - like for instance Nepal. They seem to have had quite a lot of glitter at their disposal. And in Malaysia it seems like these grand jewels are worn even on a more frequently scale than in Europe these days, and with them actually adding to their collections is hopefully a good sign that we will continue to see more glitter from this part of the world.
As for the similarities of the tiaras worn in the two first pictures of Tiara Mania's thread: I also thought that they might actually be the same piece, but after having looked more closely at them I could only conclude that they are not the same (as Tiara Mania explained).

A very interesting post - this royal family probably had quite a lot of jewellery.

One question - are you certain there are two different tiaras in the two first pictures of a young Queen Ratna? Could they not be the same tiara, only the black and white picture makes it look different? I am speaking of the two pictures where you have identified she is wearing the same necklace only once with emeralds.

I've been researching Nepalese tiaras recently and today is Queen Ratna's 92nd birthday so I thought we could look at her tiaras. So far I've found six different tiaras worn by her but I haven't been able to find any information about any of them except that the diamond palmette tiara is now on display at the Narayanhiti Palace Museum. As Saad from The Royal Watcher already posted about here that probably means that it is owned by the state.

I only have one picture of the first two tiaras being worn but the interesting thing here is that Queen Ratna is wearing the same necklace with and without emerald drops.
