An intriguing thread Janet. I did a post some time back on the unknown Windsor tiaras where I had came across some pics with the present Queen and her late sister preforming at what I think were pantomimes in full head and costume dress which looked to me like genuine jewel pieces but could have been costume jewelry. I wonder if the present Queen may have been gifted a head piece or tiara much earlier?

Which tiara did Queen Elizabeth II receive as an 18th birthday gift. I have my theory is that it was the mystery tiara Princess Margaret wore to Queen Juliana's enthronement in 1948 but wonder if anyone has any views?
