Margaret, Duchess of Argyll was such a fascinating figure and I have quite a bit of research on her Jewels. The Tiara, Diamond Earrings and her famous 3-strand Pearl Necklace were all personal property, and usually worn together for many occasions in the 1950s and 1960s before they were stolen, with the exception of the Pearl Necklace, from her house in London sometime in the mid-1960s

I was given a beautiful book at the Cartier store in Tokyo Airport last year which has the lovely portrait of the Duchess in the yellow gown, so I suspect the Tiara may be a Cartier piece.






She was also photographed in another set of jewels in the 1930s, which I suspect were borrowed.
