History of Famous Jewels and Collections: An enormous royal emerald

Apparently in the 1990s this was in the possession of a King but is now marketed for sale as part of an Important noble collection.

Must be a Middle Eastern or Asian monarch - I don't think this emerald would go unnoticed if it belonged to a European royal collection.
