It was an incredibly glittering evening at the Opera.

I agree with Franck that Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother wore the central portion of the cockade brooch to secure the sash at the back of her gown.

I posted the images below and the video on the RJWMB in 2017 but those posts have now been lost.

In particular one of the images shows a partial view of the brooch more clearly. It would be interesting to find out how often QEQM wore the brooch in this fashion.

Here we can see the 2 ruby brooches mentioned by Franck, and that QEQM also wore Queen Victoria's 10 diamond bar brooch to secure her sash at her shoulder.


Mme Lebrun was also wearing an interesting tiara. I'll let others describe it and the royal who later wore it.
