Thank you for your fantastic article. Do you mind me asking the source for the daughters of Princess Nicholas' being upset at their mother passing these jewels to the Greek King? I can certainly understand why they may have been irritated if their mother **gave** the parure to King Paul, after all I believe both Marina and Olga had financial problems by this point but a sale seems perfectly reasonable and inevitably the parure would either need to be sold or left to one of the daughters, which may upset the other two.
I find it hard to believe though the photograph was taken in 1949 or even in the 1940s unless this photograph was airbrushed beyond recognition.
