Ahhh yes, thanks for the color photo Beth. I now recognize the tiara but the angle and black and white had me tricked. It is a really beautiful peice though. I wonder if the earrings are also still in the family?

As Willm Jonathan and Janet noted this is the Bath family tiara, which is still worn today. And, despite the impression given by the photo Dave gave us a link to, it is a tiara.
As Janet said it was worn by the current Marchioness at her wedding in 2013.
