History of Famous Jewels and Collections: Re: Queen Elizabeth II's Burmese ruby & cameo jewels

Why thank you PaulP, I never heard or knew of this jewel set before so thanks for bringing it to our attention. You see these are the peices one would think the royals should dawn more frequently instead of having them consigned to the vaults. I am only aware of the Swedish RF having such cameos in their possession. Makes me wonder what other jewels were assembled by the late QM.

Please forgive me if these have already been discussed. In the publication Ancient and Modern Gems in the Collection of Her Majesty the Queen i saw this interesting suite of antique jewels acquired by Queen Mary. The pieces can be viewed on the UK Royal Collection website. Here below is information from the book and links to view the individual items.
I am curious to know from whom did Queen Mary acquire these jewels. Thanks

Ruby parure with Cameos.
Parure: Turin 1824 - 9 [Brooch mid-nineteenth century]
Cameos: North Italian, sixteenth-seventeenth century.
Onyx: White on translucent gray: Gold & Burmese rubies.
Provenance: Acquired by Queen Mary in 1932
