Dave, I very much doubt if Queen Mary would have looped pearls across her dress like that. I don't think we have ever seen anything like that in other photos. Nor have I seen press reports suggesting that style of wearing her pearls. That style was very much part of Queen Alexandra's image.

Queen Mary definitely would not have worn the lace style collar.
