Re: Queen Sonja's jewels at the funerals
I have not been able to find any photos of Queen Sonja without the shawl over her shoulders so I cannot be certain about whether she wore a brooch or not. However, what I did notice is that she wore the portrait of King Harald suspended in a bow in the Norwegian colours, which she normally wears to formal occasions like this, on her left hand side.
Please find my apologise if I was not clear. It was very late and I was a little ill.
It is indeed these photos.
Her pearl and diamond earrings are the ones she added to her collection following their concecration in 1991. The evening before the funeral, she wore a more interesting piece, a diamond and pearl brooch I have not seen before. Sorry for the blurry image. Could it be a British heirloom? Does anyone know?
