Re: Royal Family Order of George V, 1911 - Size 3: The King Grand-Daughters
Very interesting , thank you.
Princess Alexandra , the oldest senior member of the family is wearing her Mother's Orders or new ones?
The King's two grand-daughters, Princesses Elizabeth and Margaret were presented the order in the silver jubilee year, 1935.
Here the young princesses wear the Royal Family Orders of their father and grand-father at the 1937 Coronation
HM Queen Elizabeth wearing her father and grand-father's orders, Canberra, 1954
HRH Princess Margaret, Countess of Snowdon, wearing the CI, and three royal family orders. Note the differences between thr size 1 of EII, size 2 of GVI and size three of GV
The order was made by Garrard's in four sizes, and was distributed more widely than his father's.
