Re: Origins of the amethyst parure
If people click on the link provided by Torkel, it will take them to the site of British Royal Jewels. As far as I can see no source information is given to support the assertion that Queen Mary received the amethysts in 1899 from Princess Catherine of Wurttemberg, (she died in 1898) or that these amethysts belonged to Queen Charlotte. If there is definite proof for these claims, why not mention them?
