Royal jewels sold and later worn by others. Queen Ena's earringsArchived Message

As we all know from time to time items from royal collections are sold for various reasons.
It could be of interest to others if we could do a thread on some of these jewels.
Among the items in the Cartier exhibition in Canberra is a pair of diamond earrings which were sold to Queen Ena in 1923. As there is no mention that these were a special order, I presume that they were a stock item, perhaps purchased by the Queen on a visit to Paris.
I have never seen a photo where the Queen can be seen wearing them, but the exhibition has a photo of Nicole Kidman wearing them. I wonder how often the earrings are lent by Cartier to famous people?
