Last year what seems to be a similar tiara was worn at a wedding in Italy: http://members2.boardhost.com/royal-jewels/msg/1499868734.html At the back of my mind I have a memory of a post saying that this tiara is not the original one. However, right now I am not able to find this post. It could be that I saw it on the Royal Events message board. Maybe somebody made a note of it back then? Previous Message This is one of those perennial mysteries. Thank you for the links MarcA. I know very little about the Russian jewels; however, I am fairly certain that what was set out on a table and photographed were jewels which officially belonged to the state, not personally owned jewels. Some of those jewels survived intact; others have been re-created and can be seen in the Russian Diamond Fund displays.
