I am visiting my family in Paris a took a well deserved break by heading down to the Place Vendome. First stop? Mellerio dits Meller! I got to meet the President who is a Mellerio family member. They took me down below to the archived pieces. I saw the Marie-Antoinette Cameo bracelet. Then the following pieces below. My favouriite peacock feather commissioned by Empress Eugenie. They do not know who the turquoise tiara originally belonged to. It dismantles to form 7 brooches.
I then went to Boucheron and met with their PR director Claire who showed me around and led me to the beautiful refurbished Chinoiserie room and explained the history of how they work and they space in which they work. (Vincent Meylan I have a message for you from her!). Then I made it over to Van Cleef and saw magnificent pieces including the ruby necklace below. I had a VERY good day, indeed.
I want all members to know I talked to all the directors about out websites and our knowledge and they we THRILLED

Thank you Andrew for sharing your lovely pictures!
By a sort of coincidence, I visited the Place Vendôme on Friday, and thought of sharing some pictures, until I saw that you had done just that!
Still, can we ever get tired of jewels???
My first stop was at Chaumet, where this splendid brooch was displayed:
Then I went at Van Cleef & Arpels to see a special exhibit held to celebrate the anniversary of the 'Alhambra' collection, created in 1968.
Some of the pieces are from VC&A collection, and they are quite beautiful!
Lapis-lazuli and gold:
Gold and diamonds:
A striking 'Elephant' Bracelet, from 1978:
A rather unusual 'Sun' clip/pendant, in gold and agate, from 1974:
Finally, off to Boucheron: the Maison has reissued the iconic 'Question Mark' necklaces invented by Frédéric Boucheron in the 1880s, which have no clasp and are held by a spring hidden in the frame.
We should have joined forces Thomas!!!!! That is so great!

What a special treat for us! Thank you so much for sharing these special visits with us Andrew and Thomas. For those of us who cannot easily visit, seeing photos and reading impressions is a wonderful substitute.
