What of the Turn und Taxis Jewels

This old noble and aristocratic family has or had some of the most amazing jewels. However I read some years ago that as rich as they are or might of been, they auctioned much of their grand jewels due to financial difficulties. I would like to post some pictures of they reported jewels. Please see below.
They still have several tiara. The ruby tiara, the emerald tiara have both been worn not so long ago and they also have the big sapphire tiara. The big diamond Empire tiara didn'd find a buyer at the auctions in early 1990's sop prog´bly they still won this too.

Rather than sell income generating assets such as land, Princess Gloria sold jewels to help meet the inheritance taxes after the death of her husband.
Perhaps the most famous jewel was the pearl and diamond tiara which had belonged originally to the Empress Eugenie. It was part of the diamonds of the crown which the Republic sold in 1887. Today it is on display in the Louvre.
Among the Items that where sold where a lot of relgious pieces which came from the Monasteries and Chruches that felt to the Family in the Säuklarisation. A lot of the pioeces wher handed over to the State of bavaria in lie iof Inheritance taxes and since the 1990 nare on display in the former Marsstal of St. Emmeram Castle where a dependance of the Bavarian national Museum is located

Thanks Stefan. I remember the controversy over the auction. But I hadn't realised that so many religious things had been involved. Now that they are in the museum, many can enjoy seeing them and reading about their history.
