Can anyone tell me the origin of the pendant the Princess Royal is wearing? I suspect that the brooch comes from the Queen Mother's aquamarine tiara, but the style of the pendant is very different.

The pendant I enquired about was made from part of the aquamarine tiara belonging to the Queen Mother. I did not ever think that this tiara was such a grand and dynamic piece and was so really beautiful close up. It is interesting to see what the Princess Royal has done to the centre piece and the earrings for it looks so well in its currant form that it appears not to be missing anything by having it slightly reformed. Can anyone say if this piece will pass back to the main line on the passing of the PR? Regards, Dave. Maridje's information and photos" Thank you, Maridje, for the great selection of photos! I agree that Princess Anne's brooch is the centre part of the tiara in its original setting. With the remodeling of the tiara one of the two larger aquamarines on either side of the removed centre piece was shifted to form the new centre. The other one became superfluous and thus was probably used for the pendant. The earrings however are constructed with several smaller rectangular cut stones, as can be seen in the photos below.

Please note that Princess Anne was wearing one of her mother's aquamarine bracelet (she owns on least 5 different aquamarine and diamonds bracelets !)
