Odescalchi emeralds

In 2017, Sothebys sold an extraordinary emerald choker style necklace belonging to an Italian princely family. However it was part of a larger parure including tiara and a series of large brooches, which I think could easily work as a further substantial necklace or tiara. It was a very large parure.
"Princess Odescalchi had an astonishing collection of emerald jewels. In a picture taken in 1938 by the court photographer Petri of Rome, taken on the occasion of a reception at the Royal Palace in Rome (illustrated opposite9, the Princess is portrayed wearing some of her amazing jewels. For the occasion, she paired the emerald and diamond necklace offered her with an important tiara and several brooches and devants de corsage which cover the bodice of her dress. After the Princess passed away in 1965, her jewellery collection was divided, and the devant de corsage was separated into brooches, the tiara was remodelled, but the necklace, the pair of earrings and the bracelets remained intact. The jewel offered in this auction is a testimony to the great taste and support of the arts of this princely family." (https://www.alaintruong.com/archives/2017/11/01/35826833.html)
Does anyone know if the family still retain the other items? It isn't really clear. Also I am intrigued that the tiara was remodelled, I have to say I am not a real fan of how it looked in the above picture but maybe it was better in person.
In terms of the chker necklace, I actually think style wise it would work with the Greek emerald parure.

The emerald choker is breathtakingly beautiful! At least one of the large emerald brooches and the emerald earrings are still in the possession of the Odescalchi family.
Princess Vittoria Odescalchi (1888–1965) in 1938
Her granddaughter, Princess Maria Pace Odescalchi (*1970) in 2019
Thank you for the clearer picture of Princess Vittoria. Really quite a remarkable parure of jewels.

Just amazing, you see they are families out there who have comparable jewel collections to royal houses, they are just very likely unknown.
Regards,
Dave.

What an interesting thread!! Thank you Janet and Mauriz!! I was completely ignorant of this family and their jewels. Now I want to delve a little more into the history of these jewels. I wonder if any of us will be able to find any more information?

I assume it's a link to this portrait from the National Portrait Gallery in your post, Laurent?
This is Princess Dora Odescalchi (née de Labouchère). She was married to Balthazar Gyalma Odescalchi, who was a distant cousin of Princess Vittoria's husband, Innocenzo Maria Michele Arcangelo Odescalchi, 8th Prince Odescalchi.
Innocenzo Maria Michele Arcangelo Odescalchi, 8th Prince Odescalchi, was the head of the house. He and Vittoria had four sons and two daughters.
After Innocenzo's death his eldest son, Livio, became 9th Prince Odescalchi. He had one daughter (Princess Maria Pace, the lady in the green gown with her grandmother's emerald brooch and earrings in my previous post).
After Livio's death in 1981 his younger brother Ladislao became 10th Prince Odescalchi. He himself had three daughters, but no son.
When he died in 2000, his younger brother Alessandro had already predeceased him, so Alessandro's eldest son Carlo became 11th Prince Odescalchi.
Princess Maria Pace was only 11 years old when her father died. She seems to have inherited at least two of the family's palaces (Palazzo Odescalchi in Rome and Castello Odescalchi in Bracciano – the castle was the venue for Tom Cruise's and Katie Holmes' wedding in 2006), despite the title passing to her uncle Ladislao. It would be interesting to know, if the main family jewels followed the title or if Maria Pace (or her mother) retained them. There certainly would have been enough emerald brooches to be devided between Princess Vittoria's descendants.
The current head of the family, Carlo, 11th Prince Odescalchi, is married to a jewellery designer, Princess Lucia. I've only ever seen photos of her wearing her own designs.
