Queen Alexandra's diamond collet necklace worn by QEQM ? Posted by Franck on February 3, 2021, 9:21 pm Dear all, We all know that Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother wore as Duchess of York (on least once), Queen (on least once) and as Queen Mother (many times) a "small diamond collet necklace" which is called the Duchess of York's diamond collet necklace. After having compared the photos I now think that it may be QA's necklace (same shape, big diamonds). I have a montage to compare the necklaces : online id picture maker However on this photo the necklace (the diamond) worn by QEQM seems smaller than the one worn by QEII : What do you think ? Franck

Good points Franck, but collect necklaces are always very hard to id. If they use to wear them like the past queens Alexandra and Mary stacked upon each other that may have helped. Regards, Dave. Franck you know so much more than any of us about the collet necklaces! Your finds and comments always make me think. As you know I am hopeless in gauging which collect necklace is which in most situations although, having said that, I wonder if it is not just the angle from which the last photo has been taken which is creating a different impression? But I admit my eye for such details is not very good.

I have just found a better photo of Queen Alexandra's collet necklace. The stones are bigger (compare the number of collets). Consequently, the smaller Collet Necklace worn by QEQM is different !
